Compared to products made 30 or 40 years ago, many contemporary products are crap. They include a lot of idiot-proof features, are made of plastic and are produced in China with low quality-control standards. These complaints fit the Worx 18" 15 amp electric chainsaw with the possible exception of the last, but the bottom line is that it works like a champ.

I bought it at Amazon to replace my Homelite electric chainsaw that finally gave up after 31 years. I was not optimistic about a new saw for the above reasons. But I've had the Worx for about 2 months and have been using it almost every day for about 5 hours per, cutting hard and soft woods 1" to 6" diameter. It works (or worx) great! We did some brushing on our 5 acres to reduce fire hazard and ended up with lots of fir, pine, oak and madrone wood that my wife wanted cut down to size for our wood cookstove. I've easily made over 1500 cuts with it already.

I ordered the 18" worx chainsaw from ebay but from the same vendor vminnovations. it was cheap and got here quicker than i could believe.

I paid 79.99 for the saw w/ free shipping.

easy to assemble out of the box, came with a tiny amount of oil. went outside and made a cut in some endgrain that would have been a pain in the butt for my older dying gas chainsaw. cuts through frozen hardwood like butter.

this video is of me cutting a large cross section of fresh green wet siberian elm, it was cut last month and was frozen solid. the motor quiets down a little as stress is put on it, I really hope they honor the two year warranty if this beast of a saw ever gets injured.

Years ago, before Arthritis set in, I had a 22" Stihl gas chainsaw and was able to safely cut most anything. Years later, I no longer felt safe using the Stihl and moved down to a 14" electric and limited my cutting to just trimming. Recently I picked up a Worx Jawsaw and was really impressed with it's automatic chain tensioning system. Then I saw they also offered an 18" electric saw with the same system. My old saw was dying so I ordered the Worx 18" saw. THAT is the saw to have if you don't need gas. What a great saw.

I only wish that Oregon made a Powersharp Kit for that saw. Maybe some day they will.
