I was very surprised by how well this little chainsaw worked. The battery only lasted for about 15 minutes but with what I was cutting I was surprised it lasted that long. Fortunately I had extra batteries that fit it from other Ryobi products and was able to finish what I started, I would recommend getting the extended battery but the standard one charges fairly quickly and if you have extra 18v Ryobi batteries you can use those while the standard one recharges. If it had come with the extended life battery I would have give it 5 stars.

The saw completes my cordless tool list, it is perfect for the small trimming jobs when the gas saw is too much.

You can avoid the expense and the oily mess by putting a 10in or 12in tree trimmer's blade - for about $8 at HD - into your reciprocating saw. The trimmer blade cuts branches like butter and I cut (with some effort) an 16 inch palm with it. If you need more than that you probably need a gas chainsaw anyway.
