Poulan P3416 16-Inch 34cc 2-Cycle Gas-Powered Chain Saw

Comment: This is my fifth chainsaw and has immediately become my favorite. The 16" bar is less than half the length of the bar of chainsaw #4, a Stihl 650. But unless I'm cutting down forest giants, I prefer to use the Poulan P3416. It cuts surprisingly fast, it weighs a whole lot less than the 650, it has excellent fuel capacity, and it is very sturdy. It's also the least noisy of all my saws, due in part to the fact that the exhaust exits the front of the saw.

Six pick-up loads of firewood later it's still cutting like a champ without so much as a touch-up to the chain. (I should mention that the auto-oiler works very well, yet bar oil doesn't leak all over the place like it does with the Stihl.) I highly recommend this saw. At this price, buy two! I rather think I will.

Comment: I'm a 65-year-old woman, with some but not a lot of chainsaw experience previously. But I need to trim my trees and cut logs to size for my fireplace. This baby is excellent! I am able to handle it safely and with confidence, it starts every time if you follow the instructions properly, and it cuts my wood, including ohia logs (among the world's hardest woods) as much as 6-8 inches in diameter! (Really appreciated the logging tips included in the chain saw's operation booklet!) And Amazon got it to me with FREE shipping within days (less than a week) which is pret-tee good when you realize I live on an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean!!!

Comment: Saw will not start unless you follow directions exactly. Cuts wood fine. Good saw for the money.

Comment: Arrived assembled, no dings or scratches. I didn't see in the ad and was very happy to get a good case, a sharpening tool, chain oil, mix oil, and of course the chainsaw adjusting tool. Like the Poulan trimmer I ordered the same day, the saw started easily and went straight to work. I don't know about long-term yet but initial quality is above and beyond.

Now I know the longer term and my review went from 5 to 2 stars. The idle went to crap before I used one bottle of chain oil. Won't run unless "floored."

Comment: Poulan P3416 16-Inch 34cc 2-Cycle Gas Powered Chain Saw I had a faulty chain break and the saw froze after 2 uses. Poulan honored their warranty and replaced the saw. Once you get the idea of starting up, it is a good saw for the money.
