Summary: great little saw for the price 2010-08-29
Comment: After five years of fairly heavy use, I may have blown the motor and will be looking at the 16" model. Having to keep the oil button depressed is a bit of a bother, and if you're cutting more than a few hundred feet from an outlet you'll need a gas model, but otherwise this can't be beat. It's virtually maintenance free--I keep it oiled and tensioned and change the chain each year, but otherwise nothing is needed. It's quiet, very light-weight, and gets into tight places not accessible to bigger models. I take down 100-foot trees and cut them up without any problems. I feel I have gotten my money's worth many times over.

Summary: Lightweight, but powerful electric chainsaw. 2010-08-05
Comment: I'm a homeowner with plenty of mature trees and bushes (laurels!) that I need to to trim back. I bought this Poulan 14" electric chainsaw, and it really works great! I don't need to use it too often, so the manual oiling mechanism is not much of a bother. ~~~ I recommend this electric chainsaw for moderate to light chainsaw needs.

Summary: Works well, oil leak issue 2010-07-01
Comment: This chain saw worked well for the small amount of light use I've put it to so far. Only problem was that the bar/chain oil leaked out while it was not in use. I found out from a local shop that Poulan referred me to that if you store it on it's side (motor down, bar up), this shouldn't happen. I didn't see anything in the manual about this.

Summary: this chainsaw sucks!!! 2010-06-18
Comment: Bought this after reading reviews. This chainsaw sucks! It can barely cut a 2x4, and could not cut the wood that I tried to cut it with. A $40 circular saw cuts better than this piece of junk. Don't waste your money on this, or at least try a higher hp saw. The chain keeps coming off too, and there is no good way to tighten it. And it is tough to keep the safety button pressed while holding the button to run the chainsaw. If it would cut wood, I might have kept it. Sent it back for a refund. Bought the Earthwise 16" electric saw , same price, 12 ampEarthwise CS30016 16-Inch 12 amp Electric Chain Saw. It got the job done!
