Comment: I bought this saw from Amazon last week to clear fallen trees left by Hurricane Kartina. My local stores were out of chain saws so I decided to mail order it, and Amazon, much to their credit, delivered on time and as promised.
After assembling the saw and prepping it per the manufacturers instructions, the saw started right up and I had no problems with it over the course of three days of cutting.
This saw is powerful enough to cut through just about anything, but that power comes at the cost of extra weight. This is a fairly heavy saw (about 20 lbs.), and can become tiring to use after a full day. That being said, the great thing about the weight and the power of this saw is that on most cuts the saw just runs through with very little effort. Truly like the cliche of a hot knife through butter.
The only criticism I have of this saw is the chain adjustment procedure. The blade is moved via a rather small screw at its base, and getting a screwdriver lined up while tensioning the chain is very awkward. It is really annoying in the first few minutes of use as the chain heats up and may need adjustment more frequently.
Other than that this saw was simple to start and use, and was equally effective against large and small trees, soft and hard wood. Overall a great saw.
