I don't mean to be a spoilsport, but I think that the reviewer has unfairly maligned a good series of saws based one example. The Husky 372 has a perfectly good reputation amongst thinners and loggers. Sure, it is a tad more chintz than the corresponding Stihl item, but the Husky is generally about $100 cheaper and one gets what one pays for in chainsaws and optics. The 372 series is perfectly capable of being used as a high production frequent use machine. I personally know several cutters who continue to use Husqvarna items. I suspect the previous reviewer either had a lemon, or that he/she had a dull saw, which is admittedly is worthless. I have more than 1500 hours of actual run time operating Stihl 046's in western timber, and I would not hesitate to grab a 372 if the price were right and it were available. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful: This review is from: Husqvarna 372XP 20in. Chain Saw (Misc.) The 372XP is a heavy, powerful saw that is big step up from "consumer" saws. I've had my 372XP w/24" bar for six years now, and it's a definite winner. It will take up to a 28" bar but most of us don't need anything that long--the 24" has been ideal for my purposes. I don't cut anything really big with it, mostly brush clearing on my acreage and some felling of trees under 24", but 70cc's provides a ton of power for about anything you tackle. It starts easily and cuts very quickly, and has been super reliable, not giving me an ounce of trouble. Use the compression release and choke properly, and READ THE MANUAL!!! Like any chain saw, it requires a sharp, tight chain and someone who knows how to properly maintain and use it. Stay away from this saw if you have only occasional backyard applications (it's best to also own a small 14" 30cc saw for small work), because along with all this power and cutting capability comes a lot of extra weight to swing around and sharply increased danger...Read more 3 of 27 people found the following review helpful: By A Customer This review is from: Husqvarna 372XP 20in.
