Comment: I purchased this saw primary to cut a down a couple of trees and for a lot of trimming I needed to do. The price was right compared with renting a saw, or hiring someone to do the job.
Well, homelite isn't what it used to be. Initially I had a real problem getting the saw running because the blade clutch/brake was to tight. Eventually I got it running, but it wouldn't idle for the first hour of use due to the clutch issue. After a that, it either burned the clutch enough, or enough oil got in there that it now works as expected. I planned to return the saw at that point but didn't as it was then working correctly and I had put a couple hours use on it.
Now the thing leaks bar oil like crazy, I put bar oil in it before each use, and use it for 10 minutes, and then it sits for a couple months. During that time it proceeds to leak the remainder of the tank into the case. I guess that is why it comes with a case!
This is all highly annoying since the saw is maybe two years old, and doesn't have more than 3 hours of total use.
