Summary: Saw is not reliable 2010-05-09
Comment: Paid $78 2 years ago from a large home improvement store
Saw worked the first time then it locked up pull rope would not move, after reading on net found the only way to fix was remove brake band = metal band that goes around clutch as housing was plastic and everything had melted in that area causing problem, it now works but has no safety brake just like the old days, I did not use saw for over 1 year after buying and so I was stuck with it. Junk in my opinion, I have over 40 years experience with these things.

Summary: A Total POS! 2009-04-15
Comment: Difficult starting since day 1, progressively rougher running until it wouldn't start anymore. Repair shop made carb adjustment (need special tool), which lasted an hour. Currently in repair shop needing short block because of piston/cylinder scoring. Awaiting Homelite authorization for repair. Bottom line: There's a reason these saws get sent back to the factory. I wouldn't touch another with a 10' pole!
