Be careful to read the warranty for all Homelite models. The carburetor's on the previous models were not under the warranty period. Guess what went out first on mine? They saw that one coming! I used it on only 4 cords of wood. An authorized repairman told me that the carburetors that once made in Japan are made guess where? (if your're bad at guessing, China) Another issue is that it leaks chain oil like crazy. So what good is my two year warranty? Don' let these guys get away with your hard earned money, don't give them your business. It seems you can't trust too many people these days, read all warranties before you make your investment. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Homelite Chain Saw 42cc 18in Bought this saw at Menards about 3 yrs ago. Used it about 3 times, an hour each and it wouldn't idle down, ran at full speed. Nearest Authorized repair center is 2 1/2 hrs away so I paid another $40 to get it repaired at a local dealer, Homelite refused to reimburse me for warranty repair. used it 2 times and it did the same thing. Had it repaired again and used it 3 times and it started doing it again. I had just cut a medium size tree down so I used it anyway to get the tree cleaned up... now it's locked up must have overheated. Never another Homelite product! |
