This review is from: Greenworks 20032 18-Inch 13 Amp Electric Chain Saw With Chain Brake (Lawn & Patio) Several massive oak limbs fell next to my home and a shed and were much too big to clear with just a 30" hand saw. I hate gas-powered chain saws. My old 14 inch Stihl gas chain saw has been sitting idle in my closet for decades (literally) after only a little use. It is underpowered, noisy, and always extremely difficult to start even when it was new. The oak limbs were too close to the buildings leaving no room for the swing of a 4 foot long hand crosscut logging saw. A new, inexpensive electric chain saw seemed the ideal solution with electric power being close at hand.
I considered three 18" electric chain saw models and decided on the Greenworks 20032. The Greenworks 20032 18-Inch 13 Amp Electric Chain Saw is in the same class as the Poulan Pro 400E 18-Inch 4 hp Electric Chain Saw and the Craftsman 34118 4 hp 18" Electric Chain Saw and uses the same Oregon 18S62041 18" Intenz bar and Oregon S62 18" 91 Low Profile Semi Chisel chain. This review is from: Greenworks 20032 18-Inch 13 Amp Electric Chain Saw With Chain Brake (Lawn & Patio) After having enough getting by with using just a reciprocating saw for clearing fence lines of small trees and clearing the yard of large fallen branches after a storm, I was in need of something more substantial. Having a hard time justifying the cost of a decent gas chainsaw the electric chainsaw appeared to be a good fit for my needs.
I never was impressed by the quality or design of any Poulan product and the Makita electric chainsaws are of commercial quality but a bit expensive to justify in residential use. Reading R.S.J.'s thorough review of this product helped me decide to purchase this make and model, and overall I am very pleased. The Good - Four year warranty! Most electric chainsaws only have a one year warranty. - Plastic housing is actually impressive in its quality and durability. - Mechanical brake stops the chain instantly when you let go of the trigger. - Most working parts are metal where it counts. This review is from: Greenworks 20032 18-Inch 13 Amp Electric Chain Saw With Chain Brake (Lawn & Patio) This electric chain saw is impressive. I used it on some seasoned juniper and it sawed through it like it was pine. I would have giving it 5 stars had filling the chain oil reservoir been easier. When I tried to fill it with oil, it ran over the side, the hole needs to be bigger. |
