Comment: This never worked from the start. Stalled so many times and very hard to start. I replaced it once already and replacement also had issues. Their warranty dept was rude and awful to deal with. Go with a Stihl or Makita. I learned my lesson the hard way!

Summary: Great mid size chainsaw for the money 2010-01-17
Comment: I was somewhat concerned about what I would get when I ordered this chainsaw for around $80 including shipping, because it said 'reconditioned"? But then I've had good luck in the past with most reconditioned items of all types "Most people like to buy something...use it one time and take it back" So you really never know if it has a problem or not when it was returned? But when it was delivered I was alittle worried because I could see that it wasn't really comp;etely recondioned like it should have been. It was still dirty and I could tell that it still had the old chain on it that was used to the point that it needed to be resharpend before it could really be used. Also, when I went to start it...the choke would not pull out all the way to choke it...only half way, and to start these saws...you need to put it on FULL choke untill it fires up and then put it on half choke untill it warms up. I could not get it started on half choke...so I have no ideal how it made it threw the reconditioning part? But it's a good thing that I have worked on all types of machines in the last 40 some years...it was an easy fix. I took off the cover for the air cleaner so I could see the carb and choke linkage and seen that the lever was bent on the side of the carb, not alittle...but alot, someone had to have took off the cover and bent it with a screw driver before they took it back and the people that were suppose to recondition it...didn't do thier job...I don't even believe they started it? But anyways...I bent the choke lever back so that the choke would open to full choke and it fired on the first pull and ran on the second pull like it should...by the way...very easy to start if you do it like it tells ya...not like alot of people on here that like to complain because they don't read the starting directions? I bought it last Spring and after fixing the Choke "2 mins time & filing the chain 3 mins" It has been starting and cutting like a $350 saw...so I can't complain. I would advize people to buy one or two extra chains to save time when cutting. The one that comes with it is made of very soft steel..."BUT THEN ALMOST ALL SAWS DO"...so go out to a dea;er and get a couple of HARDENED chains for about $20 ea and don't worry about the 5 dollar one that comes with the saw...okay So if you know anything about chainsaws....buy one or two of these...they work great...cost almost nothing and get the job done. NOTE: These are not the heavy saws for hard cutting all day...but unless you want to pay $300 to $700 for a working type saw....these are great for week-end jobs and to cut most of what most people need to do...unless your a logger?

Summary: not too bad for <$100 2009-05-27
Comment: I read the reviews but bought it anyway because of the price. The saw arrived clean, the chain may have been new but the bar showed signs of use. The chainsaw starts all the time so far. There was one time that it was difficult to start, but it turns easy and while working the choke it eventually started. I have cut down 3 full trees (2 maple and 1 pine) from felling, de-limbing, to cutting into sections for fire wood. The saw has paid for itself right there. One of the maples was over 16" in diameter at the base. The only thing you need to be aware of is the kickback guard at the end of bar came loose and spun into the chain destroying the chain. Either keep an eye on the screw and make sure it is always tight or remove it all together. Also, it stalls when cutting horizontal, but I am not sure if this is typical on more expensive saws. All in all, it is an OK saw that has served its purpose.

Comment: Bought this reconditioned chainsaw. It came without instructions how to assemble the blade. I was unable to put the chain and blade on the engine, called the factory a few weeks later to find out I could not return the chainsaw because they had a few days return policy. They sent me to a dealer, they were un-cooperative and mentioned to me the company was un-cooperative with them. The chainsaw is still at the dealer over a month after the purchase and I still do not have a workable chainsaw to work with. This is a bad situation for anyone wanting to save a few dollars to buy a chainsaw.
