Summary: Poor Quality 2008-09-18
Comment: During first use cutting small fallen limbs product starting smoking and burnt electrical connections. Ryobi provided a list a locations providing warranty service for outdoor products. I contacted all locations and they advised that they only worked on gas products. I shipped it to a repair facility in St Louis and they rejected the warranty claim. The excuse was it was operated with the tension too tight. This was the first use - tension was set by Ryobi at the factory. I checked it before use and it turned without binding - which according to the manual is the correct tension. Even if this were true, a product with this advertised power should not be so fragile as to catch fire if the tension is not correct.

Summary: chainsaw 2008-06-23
Comment: the electric chainsaw was a very good buy. It had plenty of power and it cut big logs quite well. Two down points... the cost of a heavy duty electric cord needed was very high and one of the electric connector prongs is loose. But it runs and cuts great and i like it

Comment: Great chainsaw. It is a lady's answer to a chainsaw. Easy to operate. Great handling. Very happy.

Summary: I give up 2008-05-20
Comment: I've had this chain saw for over a year. When it was new it worked fine but has not aged well. The case it comes in is good but the saw leaked chain oil from the start so you either have to drain the oil or put up the the mess. The chain tightener is easier than most but unfortunately it has failed prematurely and is nearly impossible to install a new chain. The mechanism is just too wimpy. I'm going to buy the Consumer Reports recommended Poulan Pro 40E for about the same price.

Comment:
good product, but a bit flimsey in the plastic and chain tension hardware. You need compressed air to properly clean out the saw dust. For the price this was an excellent buy.
