Summary: Complete waste of time... 2008-10-06
Comment: After spending 40 minutes assembling this turkey (lousy instructions), I find the chain all twisted and tangled. Then I spent 30 minutes trying to untangle the chain, but I had to give up. Back it goes.

Summary: You get what you pay for 2008-10-05
Comment: The price on this was just too low to pass up. So, we got one to cut up branches and logs for later splitting for firewood. As it turns out, it works great for that. It's cutting logs much larger than I anticipated.
Putting it together, though, was a chore. Wear gloves! I cut myself and not even on the chain. Getting the tension right isn't easy, either. It took me a while before I realized I had to loosen the tension to get the chain on and then re-tighten it so it would stay on. As a refurb, the adjustments may not be where they were when new -- so the manual might miss some bits.
Don't forget to oil it!
And make sure you have an extension cord that it will fit over. The short tail cord must be used with an extension cord that has only a single socket at the end as it cups over the whole thing.
It's a bit slow on large logs, but does cut them easily up to the length of the bar.
It's also clean; no smoke or fumes. It's also fairly light, too. This can lead to the misconception that it can be used with one hand. Although possible, that's not very safe. This isn't a circular saw or jig saw - that cutting bar is big compared to a hand power tool.

Summary: Wow! This little machine gets it done!!! 2008-09-26
Comment: I had a tree split during Hurricane Ike. So I ordered this little chain saw because it was very affordable. I was concerned that it might not get the job done. I was wrong! It did a great job! And with ease! It was easy to assemble and oil. I chopped through some tree branches that were more thick than 6-7 inches. Many of them! I'll have more jobs for this chain saw in the next few days. I'm amazed and proud to own this little electric chain saw. It's amazing for the price. And it's a little work horse...

Summary: Great little limb buster. 2008-09-21
Comment: This saw was purchased to trim my one acre of trees. It was purchased about a month ago and been used on several occasions trimming limbs of up to 3" in diameter. It has done everything I have wanted it to do but have not exceeded the limitations of a 14" saw. The instructions that came with the saw were followed.
