Summary: Excellent saw for the homeowner 2010-07-15
Comment: After reading all the reviews about the Saw I agree with the people who can't figure out why some people have said they had so much trouble. I have used the saw for a little over a month and used it to drop and limb OAK trees up to 20" diameter. This saw performed well above expectations. The Quick self adjuster worked great. A few times the thumb wheel was stuck but a quick movement of the bar and it loosed right up. My Only critism was that the saw is a little under powered which was only noticeable on the large diameter trees. The Saw had a New Bar and chain and looked like it had bearly been used. If you follow Poulans starting instructions the saw will fire right up.

Summary: Solid, inexpensive chainsaw 2010-07-05
Comment: I have used Poulan chainsaws for over 20 years. They are good chainsaws (I've used several models from 16"
bars to 20" bars). I also own a $450 Husquvarna Rancher. Is the Poulan saw as good...of course not,
but does the Poulans perform acceptably...a very resounding "Yes!" The Husquvarna is still new in the box, because my Poulans keep working. I can buy 4 Poulans (factory refurbished) for the cost of the Husquvarna. Now for the $64 dollar question...which would I rather have for the money, one Husky or 4 Poulans? I'd take the 4 Poulans hands down because
as good as the Husky is, it can't outlast 4 Poulans. If you are familiar with World War II tank history, the U.S. Sherman tank was vastly inferior to the German Tiger tank, but in the end the Shermans won out because quantity overcame quality. Same here. If you don't have any basic mechanical skills and refuse to read the factory owners manual, don't buy a Poulan chainsaw...in fact don't buy ANY chainsaw...you will be disappointed regardless of the brand you choose.

Summary: very good saw 2010-05-31
Comment: I have used this saw now for two weeks and it seems to be a great saw. It starts better than any saw I have owned. The only drawback is that it seems to have no low end torque. It is a high rev saw which is no problem for me. I only use it for my own personal wood cutting, wood stove.

Summary: don,t even bother 2010-03-24
Comment: I recieved this chainsaw on a wednesday and thursday it went to the repairshop. The chain adjuster was busted, and the engine wouldn't even start. They say its factory reconditioned, but what factory are the talking about. The chocolate factory or what? Its been at the shop three weeks now, going to pick it up tomorrow so I don't even know if its fixed yet.

Summary: Re-furbished? I don't think so..... 2010-02-25
Comment: They state this product is refubished to like-new condition, but they must've missed this one...
Drive sprocket has a deep groove worn in it and the chain keeps soming off. Chain adjustment scrw drive is made of plastic and 2 teeth are worn off the gear drive making it very hard to adjust chain when it gets loose, Not replacing those 2 parts makes this saw a POS.
Previous owner used it hard and the case is really chewed up in places and the chain cover doesn't fir flush and sticks out on the bottom rear corner. They say SLIGHT cosmetic blemishes are to be expected. Yeah, right,,,
I would NOT buy this product if I were smarter!!!!!!!!!!
