As a homeowner, I've had a number of 16-inch chainsaws over the years. Most of them were heavy, noisy, underpowered, and vibrated too much. The worst part about them was the amount of effort needed to start them up, if they started up at all.

I decided to step down to a smaller chainsaw and step up to a more reputable manufacturer. After doing my homework on the web, it seemed like the Echo CS-310 fit the bill.

I used the Echo CS-310 to help clear a half-acre of densely packed trees, up to 10" in diameter, on our family's property. Because of other commitments, the job stretched out over four months. I was pleasantly surprised by how well the chainsaw performed during that time. I'd say the 310 delivered as much torque as any of the larger chainsaws that I previously owned. I am a first time Chain saw owner, so I'll try best I can to review it. This is a small saw, 14 inch. I live in Florida, and let my property get a little over grown. I'm using it to clean out some small trees, cut back some stumps, and prune some of my trees. After that, I expect to just have it around in case it's needed following a hurricane.

Why did I choose this one? There are currently no reviews of it on Amazon. I did however find some reviews around the web. It seems to consistently get better reviews than any other saw in this price range. This one the reviews were all good, for every other saw, the reviews were mixed, or generally bad. I didn't need a longer bar, so I dismissed others with longer bars and ones that came with a case for a lower price, because this got better reviews.

I bought a Homelite 14in 35cc from Big Orange..or a store we can call House Depot..I dont want to bad mouth them just because most of there products are made by the same comapny TTI/OWT-"Ryobi"..HongKong Junk....I returned the Homelite because after 3hrs of use the saw was ready for the junk pile..More time restarting the saw than cutting...Exchanged for this saw..purchased the 16inch bar and chain at the same time, this saw is a mad man...Unstopable..
easy to start, never has cut off, and cuts like no other...
I can easily see this 30cc chainsaw flat out embarasses the 35cc competetion...
First of many ECHO products..they are worth the extra money..
