Summary: great chainsaw 2010-05-29
Comment: Easy to start, just follow the directions and you'll have no trouble. The saw works great and the vibration is far less than I expected. Easy to maintain and adjust. I would recommend this for anyone needing a good chainsaw.

Summary: Great Saw 2010-05-02
Comment: This saw is fantastic. It will idle if you need to set it down for 20-30 seconds to move some wood. It has more than enough power. We use this to cut up some decent size firewood and for cutting fallen tree's etc. I choose this saw over Stihl, Husquavarna and other top saws b/c of the price and equally as important as the weight. This 18 in saw weights 1-3 lbs less than other brands with same size engine. The price was less and the reviews were equal if not better. Few notes, the chain must be tightened fairly quickly after initial use. It loosens up pretty fast. A tip for the occasional chainsaw user- when you mix up a gallon of gas mix some fuel stabilizer together with the 2stroke oil. It will help the fuel stay fresh and also make starting much easier in the future. Also make sure there is always oil in the saw for the bar oil. It will make cutting smoother b/c the chain won't get as hot and the engine won't have to work as hard with less friction. If your going to only use the saw 3-4 times a year do yourself a favor and mix that fuel stabilizer. Great saw, great price, would buy another. They also now make an Echo 18in hard case for this saw its $39.95. search the net.

Summary: I love the thing 2010-01-29
Comment: I've had this saw for about a year. I've cut down anywhere from 10" to 36" trees (18" bar was a stretch), and cut them up into 18" pieces for the wood stove. Saw has been awesome. It eats wood like a starving beaver. Better than anything else in its price range. Stihls are no doubt better saws, but for average joe wood cutter with a limited budget, I dare you to find a better saw. -Patrick (wife is Marie)

Summary: Great little saw... 2009-10-27
Comment: This was the second chainsaw I ever bought, and Echo is a significant step up from Poulan. I even bought it refurb from Home Depot, and it runs like a charm to this day; much less finicky than my Stihl, tho' not as powerful. Given the short bar, it is more effective at severing the humerus than the femur, but deals effectively with fabric, and performance is unaffected by fluids.

Comment: We own a log home on 32 wooded aches ,For the last 2 yrs we have used this saw 3-5 days a per week and it work/runs like new.. I go a tad over with any 2 cyc mixing the oil 50.1 ratio to make sure my echo runs with a tad of blue smoke when increasing rpms/but not to much smoke or it will bog down..It will last a long time..
